As he uses this opportunity to prove himself as a pianist, he internally comes to terms with memories of and connection to Saki. Once he finishes, he hears a light applause, and the ghost of Saki no longer haunts him. He walks into the hallway and cries on Hiroko's shoulder, finally happy to let go of his sorrowful remorse.
