Jun Uehara, a young prodigy climber, convinces her to try climbing, and Konomi quickly gets interested, using her puzzle solving skills to find ideal routes to the top. Jun is insulted by Konomi's carefree attitude and challenges her to a race to stay in the club. Even with a handicap, Konomi just barely loses to Jun, but Jun lets her stay in the club. Sayo Yotsuba then tells the assembled club members that they are going to a local youth climbing competition the next day.
